The Federal Government just launched a solid opportunity through the TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) programme. And the gist? Trainers can now earn ₦30,000 per student, monthly!

🧰 What’s This TVET Programme About?

The government is finally putting money where its mouth is - they want to empower Nigerian youths with real, practical skills through vocational training.

To make it work at scale, they’re looking for:

• Vocational Enterprise Institutions (VEIs)
• Skill Training Centres (STCs)
• Mastercraft Persons (MCPs)

If you fall into any of those categories and can train others, you can apply to get accredited. Once accepted, you'll get funding to train young people - and earn while doing it.

💰 What You’ll Be Paid

• Trainers (Artisans, MCPs, Centres): ₦30,000 per student/month
• Trainees: They also get ₦22,500 monthly as a stipend (to stay motivated), and even starter packs at the end to start their hustle!

This is massive, especially if you’re already running a centre or you have a solid skill and want to expand.

🛠️ Who Can Apply (and What You Need)

Let’s go through the 3 main groups and their requirements:

✅ For Vocational Enterprise Institutions (VEIs):

• Must be registered with CAC
• Must use NSQ-based (National Skills Qualification) curriculum
• Have 1 qualified instructor per trade (ratio 1:40)
• Must have 1 Quality Assurance Assessor (QAA) and 1 Internal QA Manager (IQAM)
• Basic infrastructure: classrooms, workshops, offices, restrooms
• Records of past training programs and student certification

✅ For Skill Training Centres (STCs):

• Also need CAC registration
• Must adopt NSQ-based curriculum
• At least 1 skilled artisan/instructor per program (min NSQ Level 3)
• One QAA and one IQAM per trade
• Good support staff
• Facilities: workshops, offices, restrooms
• Documented experience in training and certifying students

✅ For Mastercraft Persons (MCPs):

• Must have either CAC certificate or National ID Number (NIN)
• Must use NSQ-based curriculum
• One senior craftsperson per program with at least NSQ Level 3
• Must follow 1:5 training ratio (1 craftsperson to 5 trainees)
• Basic training space: workshop, restrooms
• Evidence of past successful apprenticeships or training
